Latest Restaurant at Troubled Location Closes [Empty in Port Jefferson Station]

Maroon goes dark after a few months in business.

Maroon, the latest venue at the ever-changing restaurant spot at 650 Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station, has closed down after just a few months in business.

Owner Mark Battell had initially opened a family-style Italian restaurant named Tarantella at the location, but Superstorm Sandy hit soon after the opening and after a month he closed down to reset. Maroon opened in February, but went dark in early June.

It is the latest spot to shut down after a short existence at the location, joining, most recently, the Cattleman's Steakhouse and Rib City Ale House.
