Lines, Closed Pumps at Many Local Stations Ahead of Nemo

Here we go again! Pretty much every station on 347 from Hauppauge had lines on the way home from work tonight. I was on empty and managed to get gas at a station without a line. Some guy could not have pumped more than 5 gallons into his Yukon, so the wonderful hoarders are at it again.

It's a weekend people, most of you won't be getting out or going to work anyway. By Saturday night early Sunday morning it would pretty much be back to normal. Hoarders hurt other people. But I guess they like going through life doing that sort of thing. It's always Me First. You can tell the way some people are just by the way they drive. Me First, First Me, Me First

On my way to the market for bread & milk last night I needed gas and didn't think for a minute I be flashing back to the Sandy gas lines with a twist...Pulled into Hess, started to pump and poof, out went the lights, and then the pump...Manged to get a whopping .17 worth of regular gas...tried switching to plus or premium...that got me another 1/3 of a gallon...no where near enough to feed my gas guzzling SUV...Off to another station...one pump to another the same deal....10 cents at one...$1.50 at another!!..grrrrrrrr...FINALLY found a pump willing to give up the gas!...Of course it was premium at $4+ a gallon!...I wasn't hoarding, or topping off...just trying to get my 'burb to her usual 1/2 tank!....

Thank God we dont have people like you long Islanders in Fairbanks. You wouldnt make it through the first winter.Pansies.

Ed...although I personally don't think I'd do well with that kind of cold & snow, there is HUGE difference when talking about a town for whom snow is an everyday occurrence vs towns where we get maybe a couple few big snows a year...If you are prepared and have the equipment (snow blowers, snow mobiles, super quick & efficient snow clearing) it's much easier to handle...
