Hoping to attract foot traffic on Port Jefferson's East Main Street, Steve Plunkett opened PJ Tee's about a month ago.
Occupying the storefront formerly home to Beverly Frills, which moved to Stony Brook early this year, Plunkett does custom t-shirts, tank tops, hats and other articles of clothing right on-site.
Though another custom clothing business, East End Shirt Co., has been in business for many years in Port Jefferson, the businesses offer different pricing and set-up fees. East End requires a minimum of 12 to place a screen printing order, which gets printed off-site, while PJ Tee's can do single-shirt orders and does them right in the store.
"It's been an adventure so far," Plunkett said.
