Nov. 12 -14: Weekend Guide

Plan your weekend with Port Jefferson Patch's guide to what's going on around town.

This weekend kicks off the 27th annual production of A Christmas Carol at Theatre Three so the holiday season has unofficially started in Port Jefferson. Restaurant Week continues with prix fixe meals available at many restaurants in town and to top it all off, Dollarmania at Port Jeff Bowl on Sunday.

"Bored" should not be in your vocabulary this weekend.

: Theatre Three's 27th anniversary production of Charles Dickens' immortal classic opens this weekend. Continues through Dec. 26. Adapted for the Stage by Jeffrey E. Sanzel. Follow the miser Ebenezer Scrooge on a journey that teaches him the true meaning of Christmas - past, present and future.

: The fifth annual Restaurant Week on Long Island continues through Sunday. Participating restaurants will have a three-course prix fixe for $24.95 per person all night.

: All month you can go to to see the work of local mixed media artist John Stack.

: See the students of Earl L. Vandermeulen High School put on their production of Witness for the Prosecution. This courroom drama written by Agatha Christie is about a man on trial for murder. Friday, Nov. 12, 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 13, 8:00 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 14, 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 13

: Every Saturday and Sunday come to the Children's Maritime Museum for educational fun for the kids. On Saturday the museum opens at 3 p.m. On Sunday it opens at 1 p.m. The museum closes at 5 p.m. both days.

: At 11:00 a.m. the library is having a life-sized board game experience. Participate as part of the game.

: The monthly music series at continues with the music of Rupert Wates. Also appearing are Roger Silvereberg and Steve Archdeacon. All net proceeds from the $5 donation at the door go to the St. Gerard Majella parish outreach program, which feeds and clothes hundreds of Long Islanders.

: Come to the Children's Maritime Museum for this special event for kids on Saturday and Sunday.

: Dancing, live music by Aegean Connections, 3 course dinner, cash bar and lots of fun. $75.00 for adults, $45.00 for young adults (ages 13-21) and $25.00 for children under 12 (kid's menu). Open to all.

Sunday, Nov. 14

: The . This is the last week so get there to purchase food from local farmers before it closes down for the season.

: Friends of the present Serenade Duo, featuring internationally acclaimed flutist Michelle LaPorte and guitarist Gerry Saulter. In honor of the Fall season, the program will include an original arrangement of Laurindo Almeida's beautiful Brazilian work, Autumnal Prelude.
