Peanut Butter and Banana Crepe Hits The Spot

San Franciscan crepe is a hearty way to start your day, especially if you want to skip lunch.

This eatery on Main Street stands out for the many colorful signs out front, early Christmas decorations and Greek and Italian food. The menu is filled with an eclectic mix of dishes but if you're looking for a place to start your day with a filling breakfast then you have hit the spot. All of the breakfast items on the menu at seem to be rich and tasty but the San Franciscan stood out from a crowd of crepes.

The Dish: San Franciscan Crepe ($10.95)

What's Inside: Peanut butter, banana and coconut rolled into a thin pancake-like wrap. The crepes are sprinkled with powdered sugar & served with whipped cream.

How's It Taste?: With all the richness of peanut butter and banana, if you can get your mouth open long enough to say what this item tastes like then you might say something like "yummy" or just "mmmm." If that weren't enough, strawberries and coconut add to the dish by giving you some sweet on top of it all.

It's a heavy dish but one you will thoroughly enjoy because it's somewhat on the decadent side. They give you four individual crepes so unless you have a huge appetite you're probably not getting through all of them. They are, of course, perfect for sharing with a friend.

If it's energy you need and want to make it through the day on one meal, then this is no slouch of a dish. According the waitress, the San Franciscan is one of the most popular crepes on the menu. It gives another popular crepe on the menu called the Californian made from banana and Nutella ($10.95) a run for its money.

Sides: Are you crazy? There is no way you're eating anything else until dinner much less a side. One of Z-Pita's huge cups of coffee ($1.99) might make a good side to this dish. If you're sharing with a friend then perhaps pair it with one of their omelets. The grilled asparagus, swiss & tomato ($9.95) made for a good contrast in flavor.
