PJ Cinemas Announces Increase in Movie Ticket Prices

New ticket prices, however, are still among the lowest in the region.

The management at PJ Cinemas in Port Jefferson Station recently announced a 50 cent price, which it said on its website was slated to go into effect March 22.

Through Sunday evening, a statement on the theater's website read: "We regret this increase, our first one in almost eight years. Thank you for your continued patronage."

With the price increase, PJ Cinemas now charges admission as follows:

  • adults – $9
  • matinees (before 6 p.m.) – $5.50
  • children (12 and under) – $5.50
  • seniors (60 and over) – $5.50

The prices are still among the lowest in the region, however; nearby AMC Loews Stony Brook charges $11.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors, $8.50 for kids, and $6 for matinees (before noon only).

The movie theater's management did not return a request for comment from Patch via phone and email.
