Plymouth Estates Eyes Site for New Retirement Community
97 units are proposed on the Plymouth Avenue and Canal Road site.
The owner of Plymouth Estates recently met with the Mount Sinai Civic Association to pitch their hopes to build a planned retirement community.
The community, which would be called Pond View Estates, would be built on 17 acres along Plymouth Avenue and Canal Road, according to a report on the Village Beacon Record.
A Brookhaven town spokesperson said that company would have to get a zone change before the project can move forward. Residents at the meeting voiced concerns over traffic.
