Port Jeff Ferry Company Guts Park City

Renovated boat will go back in service March 21.

The Port Times Record reports that the Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Stemboat Company is doing a $2 million upgrade the main passenger cabin of the Park City ferry. During the construction, the ferry company will operate a two-boat schedule, according to its website.

"You'll see a design flare that you haven't seen before," vice president and general manager of the ferry company, Fred Hall is quoted as saying in the story about the new interior changes.

The Park City was first launched into service back in 1986.

I had a feeling they were going to do something to it. It is my favorite of the three, but it was in need of some renovation. I look forward to seeing what they do to it.
