Restaurant Week in Full Swing in Port Jeff

Some local restaurants are saying "so-far, so-good" for restaurant week that kicked off on Sunday with six Port Jefferson eateries participating.

This week, over 150 Long Island restaurants are offering prix fixe meals as part of WordHampton’s first annual spring restaurant week and participating restaurants include six Port Jefferson eateries, which will present gourmet meals for $24.95 to their customers. The price includes an appetizer, main course and dessert.

The promotion comes on the heels of Hampton Restaurant week, which also offered prix fixe dishes at participating Hamptons restaurants, as well as a , where over 250 restaurants showed off their culinary delights.

The spring restaurant week is expected to not only allow customers to try new dishes and restaurants an at affordable price, but also give restaurants a shot in the arm before the summer season gets into full swing.

Tara Berkoski, who spoke for WordHampton, said that spring restaurant week also gives customers a chance to “try out new restaurants or go to their favorite restaurant at a discounted rate.”

“You can make a whole day of it or a week of it,” she said.

Locally, six restaurants are participating: , , at Danfords Hotel and Marina, , and . A couple of the restaurants have said that things are off to a good start at mid week.

On Tuesday night Anthony Vadala one of the managers over at Pasta Pasta said that even three nights in, it was already going great.

“Tonight the whole dining room is full,” he said between seating customers.

Somone who answered the phone at Costa de Espana said that it was also going well for them and that they looked forward to a good weekend coming up.

“Sunday was very good," he said. "It seems like it’s going to go very well.”
