The Dish: A Special Subgum at Win Hing in Mt. Sinai

Luncheon combo has a variety of options and flavors.

Win Hing Chinese Restaurant, located at 5507 Nesconset Highway in Mt. Sinai in the King Kullen Shopping Center, specializes in Szechuan, Hunan and Cantonese cuisine. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the restaurant offers lunch specials and combos which include soup and side options. We decided to sit down and try a special luncheon combo.

The Dish: House Special Subgum Combo (Special - $4.85, Combo - $6.15)

What's Inside: The subgum is a mixture of pork and shrimp with a variety of mixed vegetables (peppers, carrots, onions, mushrooms, celery and water chestnuts). It is served in a plate with pork fried rice, and the combo comes with your choice of wonton, egg drop and chicken rice or noodle soup, an egg roll and noodles.

How's it Taste: Everything was served fresh and very hot. The soup was flavorful and the pork and shrimp in the subgum were very juice. The mixed vegetables were cooked well, as was the pork fried rice. It was easy to tell the meal was made to order, and it was delivered right to my table along with utensils. The luncheon combo was a very tasty, very filling meal for a very satisfying price.
