Toast is Tops in Port Jeff for Breakfast

Port Jefferson village’s choice of breakfast spots is diverse enough to please any stomach. Up and down Main Street and over to Port Jefferson Station, there are plenty of diners, delis, bagel shops and cute breakfast places to keep most people happy no matter what their tastes.

But we like competition. A good fight. So we asked you, the reader, which breakfast place in Port Jefferson was the best. Toast on East Main Street won. If anyone answered, they usually answered that they loved . It was pretty much unanimous.

On Facebook, Gino D'Ambrosio said, “Toast. Hands down.” (In all caps with exclaimation points.)

Lisamarie Monaco-Turner, another enthusiastic patron wrote: TOAST TOAST TOASTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT (That’s a direct quote.)

“Our favorite place is Toast,” wrote Jacqueline Ray in the comments to the . “Absolutely the best.”

Most of the answers were very similar:

“Sunday mornings at Toast with my husband is the best place to be,” said Jena Turner.

There was one dissenter.

“I do like Toast, but I like better,” said Ed Cosgrove. “More bang for the buck, superior quality and the service is much better. Joey Z is always available and makes sure you are not waiting long, unlike toast with young and inexperienced staff often working the a.m.”
