Village Way Defends Clam Chowder Title

For the second year in a row, The Village Way wins Harvest Festival clam chowder contest.

The public has spoken and for the second year in a row, The Village Way walked away with the title of best clam chowder in Port Jefferson Village, according to votes tabulated after the clam chowder crawl at Sunday's .

A total of 73 were counted with The Village Way getting 13 of them. It wasn't a blow out. Pasta Pasta received 11 votes and Tequila Jacks got 10. There was a bit of controversy over the results as Tequila Jacks was said not to have used clams in their clam chowder.

"Kudos to Alice, owner of The Village Way," said Mayor Margot Garant.

But no matter who gets first place in the chowder crawl Garant thinks that everybody wins.

"It's great way to feature our restaurants and enjoy strolling the village," she said.
