Check Helps Save-A-Pet Get Pets Healthy

A $7,000 grant helps to defray medical costs.

animal shelter in Port Jefferson Station received a $7,000 check from Pet Peeves, a Woodbury-based organization that provides financial support for animal shelters and rescue groups. According to Dori Scofield, founder and president of Save-A-Pet, the money will go to help defray the shelter’s medical costs, which amount to over $50,000 annually.

“They are a great organization that raises funds to help those of us who do hands on rescue work,” she said.

Save-A-Pet has received yearly grants from Pet Peeves since its inception.
