Historic Port Jeff Mariner's Home For Rent

Captain Selah S. Brewster was a successful mariner from Port Jefferson.

Port Jefferson has so many historic homes still around that the local has written pamphlets of self-guided to see many of the houses that prominent figures from the village's past have built and lived in.

Melissa Petsco from Jolie Powell Realty recently snagged the listing for the  Captain Selah S. Brewster Home at 112 Jones Avenue. According to Petsco, Brewster was an extremely successful mariner who attended Port Jefferson Elementary School. He was master of several vessels, one of them built in Port Jefferson.

"I'm honored to have this listing," she said.
