In Port Jeff, Locals Now Cutting Out From Irene

Among other items like generators and bottled water, people were out getting chainsaws to prep for Hurricane Irene.

Hurricane Irene barely blew by when the buzzing of chainsaws began cutting through the air of yards all over Port Jefferson.

Many people are still doing what Ralph, a resident of Port Jefferson Station who only gave his first name, planned on doing when he purchased a chainsaw from on Friday: cutting broken trees and branches to be hauled away.

Ralph said that the chainsaw he purchased was the "one thing I'm lacking."
