Parish Center Dedicated in Honor of Montfort Fathers, Daughters of Wisdom

Parish Center renamed as Montfort Hall.

The Montfort Fathers and Daughters of Wisdom at Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Port Jefferson were recently honored in a dedication ceremony that renamed the Infant Jesus Parish Center as Montfort Hall, according to a feature published in The Port Times Record.

More than 600 people came to the ceremony that honored St. Louis de Montfort and "his particularly devoted followers." "Montfort Hall celebrates the spiritual, health, educational and social service contributions of the Montfort family of priests and nuns," The Port Times Record reported.

Among those contributions: The Daughters of Wisdom founded St. Charles Hospital, the Wharton Memorial Institute, which is now the Maryhaven Center of Hope, and taught at Infant Jesus School; and Father Francis Pizzarelli founded Hope House Ministries in 1982 to help wayward children, abused spouses and the homeless.
