PHOTOS: Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai Under a Blanket of Snow

Miller Place resident Jack Shapiro snapped pics of beach covered in snow.

Even the new Town permit wouldn't allow him access to Cedar Beach on Saturday after the blizzard, according to Miller Place resident Jack Shapiro.

"I had my parking sticker," he joked in a text message that accompanied the photos. "I still couldn't get in."

A self proclaimed weather geek, Shapiro got out to survey what the snow storm brought to the area. There was only one lane open getting to the beach.

"The trail to the beach was broken up to the last house," he said. "After that it was all drifts. It was very windy coming off the water."

He got about as close as he dared before snapping some pictures and then turning around.

"No one, including myself, was brave enough to venture further," Shapiro said.

His beach report: No bikinis on the beach that day.
