The Saint Agnes Medal of Service was bestowed upon Barbara Saulino, a parishioner of in Port Jefferson for “generously and unselfishly giving to the parish.
“Honorees are lay people whose love of the Church has been shown through their devotion to the Holy Father, to our diocese and to their parish,” said William Murphy of the Diocese of Rockville Centre.
The metal was designed and made in Rome and features the image of St. Agnes, patroness of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, on one side and St. Agnes Cathedral on the other.
Reverend Patrick M. Riegger of Infant Jesus church nominated Saulino, a resident of Port Jefferson Station. She was among the lay people nominated from 133 parishes in the diocese for donating their time to their parish, according to a statement released by the diocese.
The Most Reverend William Murphy, bishop, Diocese of Rockville Centre, bestowed the fifth annual Saint Agnes Medal of Service upon Barbara Saulino, parishioner of Infant Jesus parish, Port Jefferson. Barbara was nominated to receive the medal by pastor, Reverend Patrick M. Riegger, for generously and unselfishly giving of herself to the parish.
