Week in Review: News From Other Towns

Patch takes a look back at stories making news in nearby towns.

It's the weekend and Patch is taking a moment to get you up to date on the biggest stories from the surrounding area.

  • Tragedy struck in Manorville when a mother and her in a two-car accident last week. Two other children were airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Hospital in critical condition. and fundraiser for the family were held earlier this week.
  • We reported earlier this week that Occupy Wall Street has moved closer to home with an scheduled to take place today.  Stony Brook Univeristy students have taken the initiative and are later this month.
  • Speaking of Stony Brook University, a late Monday night. The building had been undergoing renovations. Unaffected parts of the building were opened for classes the next day.
  • The political trail wound through Patchogue this week as Brookhaven and Suffolk candidates and spoke on their positions in advance of next month's election.
  • Suffolk County Police Officers saved a Lake Ronkonkoma man who was car on Tuesday. The man was changing a tire when the jack moved.
