The Cumsewogue Historical Society wants to test your local knowledge of history.

In this historical photo, workers can be seen installing a sign somehwere in or around Port Jefferson Station.

Can you tell us where and when this picture was taken? Put your guess in the comments.

This photo comes from the Kenneth Brady Collection and can be found on the Port Jefferson village website in the historical section.

If you are cleaning out the "junk" you've accumulated over the years and come across old photos, postcards, documents, brochures, letters, calendars or anything having to do with Terryville, Port Jefferson Station or Echo, consider donating them to the Cumsewogue Historical Society.

They are always looking for advertising items from local businesses whether they are long gone or still open. If you don't wish to part with your old photos, please consider allowing them to scan them for the archive. They will then be returned to you.

Guess: The intersection currently known as 347 & Old Town Rd. Judging by the lack of leaves on the trees and wardrobe, it's late Fall or very early Spring about 2 hours after sun-up. (Long shadows.)
