ABOUT BOATING SAFELY

NY State requires the passing of a Boating Safety Course if you are at least 10 years old and less than 18 and want to operate a motorboat or personal watercraft. Currently, Suffolk County Law states that all persons operating a pleasure vessel in Suffolk County waters require an approved boating safety course and possess and display their certificate while boating. The USCG Auxiliary Port Jefferson Flotilla 2206 will be teaching an "About Boating Safely" course April 12, 2014 at the Belle Terre Community Center. The USCG Auxiliary instructors are US Coast Guard certified. Certificates awarded immediately upon taking the class and passing the exam.
