Complimentary Wine Tasting & Cheese Pairing

On Saturday, December 15, Vine 2 Wine will host a complimentary wine tasting in which we will taste Chateau de la Negly “L'ancely” Coteaux du Languedoc 2007 as well as Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2011. The Languedoc is the result of the same sort of uncompromising viticulture and vinification as Negly's celebrated Port du Ciel. Suggestions of plum preserves and of high quality beef sirloin juices from nose to finish mark this as unmistakably Mourvedre. Sheer viscosity and striking salinity put me in mind of plum paste mingled with hoisin and soy sauces. Black pepper and pungent herbal notes ratchet-up the already outrageous intensity in the finish. The Sauvignon Blanc is complex on the nose and richly textured in the mouth, this wine delivers it all. Hints of struck flint and wild onion accent grapefruit aromas, while the flavors range easily from pink grapefruit and red currant to delicate herb shadings. It’s full without being too full, with a potent yet refreshing finish that seemingly lingers forever.
