Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by the recent super storm Sandy. With the upcoming holidays they will need our help more than ever. Holidays are a time with families, for reflection and for giving.

We invite our fellow citizens to join us in supporting the community to provide much-needed assistance to the victims of this super storm this holiday season. The Terryville Fire Department’s Engine Company 2, will hold its 6th Annual Toy Drive on December 8th from 10am to 5pm at Station #2 on Old Town Road and Terryville Road in Port Jefferson Station.

Please join by donating an unwrapped toy and receive a free picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There will be activities for kids and refreshments will be served.

Reject Barb S. 10:12 am on Sunday, December 9, 2012 Ive been donating gifts, food and money for years. This year my husband lost his job and its been really hard for my family. My question is, where do ppl like me go to get help? Ive called Toys for Tots and some other organizations for help and nobody seems to be able to help. I dont get it. To be honest , Im quite disappointed. Its heartbreaking and embarassing to call these places basically begging for help and then to have them point me to the next place and that one cant help me either. Ive NEVER been in this position before and when we are once again financially stable, I will choose very carefully when it comes to donating. I'll make sure to ask where the gifts are going so no one will be forgotten on Christmas like my family has been
