Long Island Reads: "One Island - One Book"

To help celebrate National Library Week we are participating in “Long Island Reads: One Island, One Book” an Island-wide reading initiative. Each Spring people in Nassau and Suffolk come together to read the same book and participate in discussions about it. This year’s book is The Manor: Three Centuries at a Slave Plantation on Long Island by Mac Griswold. Covering over 300 years of Long Island History this book also explores the little-known phenomenon of Northern slavery. Join the library’s Tuesday Evening Book Club, facilitated by Linda Ruben, for a lively discussion. Copies of the book may be picked up at the Reference Desk starting March 1st.
