Library's Children's Department is Preparing for Halloween

Port Jefferson Library scitvities for children.

Preparations are in full swing in the Children's Department for the scariest holiday of the year! Haunted houses, huge "not so" scary spiders, witches and bats are all present and accounted for in window decorations, bulletin boards and displays.

To add to the fun, we are sponsoring two contests for our youngerst library card holders. Each time they visit the Department, children are invited to guess how many candy corn are in the jar.  The closest guess wins the whole jar (as well as a complimentary toothbrush and tube of toothpaste!).

For Halloween decorating, our giant pumpkin is just the thing!  The lucky child who most accurately guesses the weight of our Great Pumpkin will get to take him home.
