Dog training, anyone?

It's always a good time to learn some basic obediance!

Happy 2013!

Generally speaking, January can be a tough month for people and canines alike. It's dark, cold and all the fun and fuss of the holidays are over, causing some to experience a "holiday hang over".

It's also the first full month all the Christmas pups have been in their new homes and all the Christmas puppies from the year before have grown into adolescent dogs. This means some wild times at home as everyone tries to go about their daily business while Fido is running laps around the dining room table and stealing your undies from the hamper.

People get dogs for companionship. But it's tough to feel like you've got a true companion if it seems as though all you ever do is yell, wave your arms around and attempt to corral an unruly canine.

If you're experiencing some...er...attitude issues with your pooch, now is a good time to find out about training programs! Victoria offers several plans to suit the needs of you and your pup. We have on and off site training, private lessons, lessons at daycare and during boarding - pretty much anything you can think of to suit your needs.

Beyond having a well behaved dog, training is an ideal way to increase your bond with your dog. There is something very calming about taking a nice stroll on a clear, chilly Winter evening with your pup after a long day - and he or she isn't dragging you around the neighborhood. You'll both come back feeling refreshed, having walked off the day's stress and aggravation.

Give us a call any time to go over your wants and needs with training. Even if formal lessons aren't what you require right now, we are always willing to lend an ear and give some advice.

Also, I love any and all feedback from you guys! Of course I prefer glowing reviews of the fabulousness that is the staff here but I also need to know if there's something we can be doing better. Email me at marianne@houndstownusa.com or give me a call at the facility.
