One of the more unfortunate effects of getting older can be decreased vision. The library can help you continue to enjoy reading. We offer a large selection of large print books, both fiction and non-fiction. We also have a great selection of audiobook on CD so you can listen to your favorite authors. For those who have more serious vision impairment you may be eligible to receive “talking books”. The application can be found here: http://www.nypl.org/sites/default/files/Application2010AD.pdf A doctor’s certification is necessary to receive this service.

Home Delivery

Are you or someone you know homebound either on a temporary or long term basis? If you can’t come to the library- let the library come to you! Please call the Library at 473-0022 and ask for Mrs. O’Hare. She will make all the arrangements to deliver your items (books, DVDs, CDs etc) and pick them up when they are done.

Senior Information Center display

Remember to visit our Senior Information Center Wall behind the Security Gate to the left when you enter the library. It includes information including listings of local-both town and county services and Medicare. There are Senior Discount sheets listing local discounts as well as transportation discounts (did you know the LIRR offers a 50% discount to seniors?). Check the center frequently as new information is always being added.

As always if you need any assistance please stop by the Reference Desk and the librarian will be happy to help.
