1+1+1+1=Screwed

WOW! No, more than just wow... WOWZA!

The Ruling Class (the politicians / rule makers who forget they serve the people) are in full swing lately.

All the following are happening local, right here in Suffolk and Nassau

1- Being found NOT guilty of a traffic violation still cost you $30 to $50.

1- Votes to increase salary's of town officials by the likes of 23% and 35%

1- Changes to law so county law makers can keep 2 public jobs

1- A town wants to exceed tax cap for 2014 budget

Normally 1+1+1+1= 4, but in this case... well you know...

Oh! - that is, unless you are on the other side of that equation and hobnobbing at the political power elite party.   :-)

What a wild ride it is becoming.  It's almost like officials don't care what your reaction may be anymore.  Their behavior is like:  "Hey, lets poke the people we serve right in the eye.  They are so dumb, forgetful, fearful, and lacks at the polls, we can pull this off.  Our party machines will get enough votes to override the sleepy voters who don't show up and we will get only who we approve back in office."

Fellow readers at the Patch, please listen closely to me.  I appeal to you from the depths of my soul.  I'm actually a very positive guy and history shows us there is always light at the end of the tunnel (e.g., our rise out of the Black Ages). But if you don't get active, if you don't get your friends and loved ones active and speaking out or at least educated and aware to what is going on; our government at the federal, state, local levels  - just like an alcoholic drug abuser -  is going to have to hit rock bottom before something changes.  Why let it get that bad?

If we allow that bottom to be reached, the damage, the pain, the suffering is going to be great.  Why let it go that far when all we need to do is pay a little more attention?  Empty your heads of a few too many football stats and who is doing who on your favorite soap opera or reality show.  Just make a little room for the things that are actually affecting your life, such as government actions or inaction.

YOUR attention level, and actions (especially in the voting booth) will directly effect your children and their children's level of suffering.

It's a tough road out there I know, but have we become so self-centers and busy as to forget the children we leave behind after our death?

Make no mistake here thinking you can run and hide to get away from the mad direct government / society is heading.  That thinking will faster and faster be proved ephemeral.  Every time you attempt to put distance between you and the madness, that distance, time and time again will get shorter and shorter.

Picture if you will a monster chasing you and your loved ones. The first time you ran it took the monster years to catch up to you.  Now every time you run the  monster gets faster and faster.

People who really care about people don't let monsters learn to run faster to hound their families.  People who really care about people say "You guys wait here, I'm headed back to kick that things A##!"

Don't have the intestinal fortitude or the strength to head back AND beat the monster back into its hole? No worries, because the next great war in America will NOT involve bombs and guns and the like.  It will be a war of mindsets and ideologies, and information will be the weapons.  The underpinnings of our government still exist and are strong enough to change directions at the will of the people.

So what will it be?

What will your will be?

What direction do you pick?

Run away?

Find a hole to hide in and hope the monster doesn't find you?

Here pick a family you want to be a part of.
