Boys Cross-Country Team Dashes to the Top

On Nov. 9, the Earl L. Vandermeulen High School boys cross-country team competed in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Cross-Country State Championships, held at Queensbury High School, where junior James Burke was awarded third place in the state for Men’s 5K Class “C” with a time of 15:59.9. The team holds fifth place in this class.

Earlier in the season, the team participated in the Suffolk County State Qualifiers and won the Class "C" Suffolk County Championship. Four students placed in the top 10 during this competition.

Suffolk County State Qualifiers Top 10 Winners:

1st Place – James Burke with a time of 17:47.78 

2nd Place – Justin Julich with a time of 18:17.81 

8th Place – John Albinson 

9th Place – Parker Schoch
