At its Nov. 5 luncheon, the Port Jefferson Rotary Club honored Port Jefferson Middle School sixth-grader Kylie Meltzer as October’s Most Motivated Student of the Month. Present at the meeting were Kylie’s mother and Earl L. Vandermeulen High School alumna Melissa Meltzer and Port Jefferson Middle School math teacher Meg Ryan. During her address to the club, Ryan expounded on the excellent scholarly and social attributes that made Kylie an outstanding candidate for nomination. Also in attendance to commend Kylie was Port Jefferson Middle School Principal and fellow Rotarian Antonio Santana.
