Port Jefferson Schools Prepared to ‘W.I.N.’

On Sept. 3 and 4, the Port Jefferson School District held its annual Superintendent’s Conference Day in preparation for the 2013-2014 school year. Teachers and staff members congregated at Earl L. Vandermeulen High School with the theme of “W.I.N.” (What’s Important Now) weaving the day’s events together.

“This is the time for you to continue implementing your best teaching practices,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Bossert. “We need to help our students be the best that they can be. We need to work to make sure that every student achieves his or her own full potential.”

Port Jefferson Board of Education President Kathleen Brennan provided words of inspiration and encouragement. “It's important for you to realize you can make a difference – whether it's assisting a child with finding a classroom or giving a parent directions to get to a meeting. No matter what kindness you do, it makes a difference in someone's life.”
