In their last year as elementary school students, fifth-graders took a field trip to Nassau BOCES’ Outdoor Education Center, known as “Project Adventure,” on June 2.
During the trip, which was organized by the district’s PTA, the students were divided into mixed groups and moved through various hands-on activities designed to develop and foster communication, cooperation, trust and problem-solving skills.
Teacher Gina Santini, whose class participated in the trip, said her soon-to-be elementary graduates enjoyed their time at the center as well as strengthening their personal and interpersonal skills.
