Arrest Report: Coram Man Allegedly Drives Drunk with Daughter in Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Lawrence Hoffman, 53, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested Aug. 18 at 10:03 p.m. in Sound Beach and charged with first-offense DWI. Police said they stopped Hoffman after he allegedly failed to stay in his lane while driving on westbound Route 25A.

Oswaldo Garcia, 46, of Coram, was arrested Aug. 17 at 9:16 p.m. in Port Jefferson and charged with aggravated DWI. Police said they stopped Garcia on Main Street after he allegedly crossed over into oncoming traffic while speeding. He had his young daughter in the car.

Amaury Ramirez, 29, of Coram, was arrested Aug. 16 at 3:26 a.m. in Port Jefferson and charged with first-offense DWI. Police said they stopped Ramirez after he allegedly failed to stay in his lane while traveling westbound on Route 25A at Hallock Ave.

John Mark, 32, of Hampton Bays, was arrested Aug. 16 at 5:30 a.m. in Port Jefferson Station on two bench warrants. According to police, a Brookhaven Town public safety officer stopped him as he was walking southbound on Route 112, allegedly in possession of several feet of copper wire. He was also charged with petty larceny and possession of burglar's tools.

Christopher Nelson, 18, of Miller Place, was arrested Aug. 16 at 5:55 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was allegedly in possession of drugs after they stopped him at Half Mile Road and Gary Street in Port Jefferson Station.

Julian Zachariah, 20, of Selden, was arrested Aug. 12 at 2:40 a.m. in Port Jefferson Station and charged with first-offense DWI. Police said they stopped him while driving southbound on Route 112 after he allegedly crossed over into oncoming traffic and passed through a red light.

Michael Cole, 23, of Middle Island, was arrested Aug. 12 at 2:30 a.m. in Port Jefferson and charged with first-offense DWI. Police said they stopped Cole after he allegedly drove south on Main Street in Port Jefferson without his headlights on.

Claudio Borja, 28, of Smithtown, was arrested Aug. 10 in Port Jefferson and charged with DWI with a previous conviction in 10 years. Police said they stopped Borja after he allegedly disobeyed a red light on West Broadway.

Richard Schaefer, 21, of Middle Island, was arrested on a Nassau County bench warrant at 3 a.m. on Aug. 5 in Port Jefferson. He was also charged with criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana after police allegedly detected a strong odor of marijuana as he was sitting in his vehicle on Mariners Way in Port Jefferson.
