Assault in Port Jefferson Station Sends Teen to Hospital
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
• A 17-year-old boy from Port Jefferson Station has been arrested and charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, after he allegedly punched a 16-year-old boy multiple times and sent him to Mather Hospital with a fractured bone and injuries requiring 18 stitches. Police said the fight happened at Charm City Drive and Gayle Court in Port Jefferson Station on Aug. 8 at 2 p.m.
• Eric Schaefer, 23, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested Aug. 8 at 1:53 a.m. in Mt. Sinai and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police pulled him over on Mt. Sinai Avenue after they said he failed to signal a left turn onto that road, and said he was intoxicated.
• A 17-year-old boy from Mt. Sinai was arrested Aug. 6 at 5:10 p.m. at the Long Island Rail Road station in Port Jefferson Station and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Police said he took a backpack containing an ID card, train pass and hard hat from a parked vehicle. It is not known whether the vehicle was locked.
• Joseph Giordano, 26, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested Aug. 8 at 8 p.m. in Port Jefferson Station and charged with criminal mischief with intent to damage property, a misdemeanor. Police said he kicked and punched a 2004 Nissan Maxima belonging to someone else.
