Cops: 3 Arrested Following Separate Alleged DWI Accidents

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

• Christopher Smith, 18, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested Aug. 2 in Port Jefferson and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said he was driving west on West Broadway at Barnum Avenue when his car jumped a curb and hit a street sign and lamp post, and he was arrested at 1 a.m.

• Emily Wasserman, 24, of Shoreham, was arrested Aug. 2 in Port Jefferson and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said she was involved in an accident while driving north on Belle Terre Road, and arrested her at 1:55 a.m.

• Christopher Prevente, 19, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested Aug. 1 in Mt. Sinai and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Police stopped him as he was traveling west on Route 25A near Crystal Brook Hollow Road, saying he was speeding and failed to stay in his lane, and arrested him at 12:40 a.m.

• A 24-year-old woman from Wading River was arrested Aug. 2 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Police said she was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked at Speedy Mart on Route 112 at Jolene Lane at 12 p.m. with two different illegal drugs in her possession.

• Brian Allgaier, 39, of Miller Place, was arrested Aug. 2 in Mt. Sinai and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police stopped him as he was traveling east on Route 25A near Vincent Street in Mt. Sinai, saying he made an unsafe lane change, and arrested him at 12:30 a.m.
