Following an armed robbery at the end of August, Suffolk County Police are reaching out to the public to see if they can help provide information that would lead to an arrest.
According to police and detectives with SCPD's Sixth Precinct, a man approached a clerk at a Gascon on Middle Country Road in Coram on Aug. 25 with a handgun, and demanded cash from the register.
Police described the man as a black male in his mid-20s with a goatee, about 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds. Images from a security camera show him wearing a gray Adidas sweatshirt, black jeans and boots.
Police said the incident occurred around 6 p.m., and the suspect took the clerk's cell phone in the robbery and proceeded to flee the scene on foot.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Suffolk County Police at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, and information leading to an arrest could offer a cash reward up to $5,000.
