Cops Seek Information on Credit Card Thief

Stolen card was used at two stores.

Suffolk County police are attempting to identify the woman who used a credit card that had been stolen from a purse in Port Jefferson.

The victim reported her American Express card stolen on May 7 after discovering it was used to purchase $250 worth of merchandise at Best Buy in Patchogue and more than $450 at Walbaums in Patchogue.

Police described the suspect as a thin woman with dark hair, wearing a blue shirt, black leggings, black ballet-style flat shoes and dark framed sunglasses.

Anyone with information on this crime can call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Calls to Crime Stoppers are kept anonymous.
