Cops Seek Purse Snatchers Who Used Stolen Credit Card

Police said the purse was stolen on New Year's Day in Port Jefferson Station.

Suffolk County Police are looking for a man and woman they say stole a purse from a car parked in Port Jefferson Station and used a credit card to make unauthorized purchases around the Mt. Sinai area.

According to police, on New Year's Day a woman reported having her purse stolen, but by the time she had contacted her bank, several purchases had already been made. One of the locations where items were bought was at a Mobil Station on Route 25A in Mt. Sinai.

Police identified the suspects as a white male, and a white female, both in their 20s.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 1-800-220-TIPS. Calls will be kept confidential.
