Cops Seeking Man Who Robbed Sears Hardware

Alleged thief fled in a white pickup truck accompanied by a woman who helped him.

A pair of alleged thieves stole merchandise valued at $280 from Sears Hardware in Port Jefferson Station in March and police are seeking the public’s help capturing them.

At about 8:40 p.m. on March 26 a man went into the Sears on Route 347 and took a a battery charger and 74-piece tool set. While a woman he was with activated the sensors to open the entrance doors the man fled the store. Both alleged thieves jumped into a white U-Haul pickup truck and fled down Route 347.

Police described the man was described as white, about 40-years-old, 6-feet, 2-inches tall with a medium build and a blond ponytail. The woman is said to be about 30-years-old, 5-feet, 5-inches tall and 140 pounds. She had a dark complexion with long, dark curly hair and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
