A two-car crash that sent at least one person to the hospital at 12:16 p.m. on Friday on Route 83 in Mt. Sinai had traffic closed heading north while crews cleaned up the damage.
The accident, involving a Hyundai Accent and a black truck, happened at Route 83 and Mt. Sinai Coram Road, according to police. An unidentified injured person was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson.
By 2 p.m. the road was reopened to traffic.
