Two people were pinned inside their vehicles, sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Three people operating separate vehicles miraculously sustained non-life threatening injuries in a crash on the Echo Avenue and Route 25A merge in Mt. Sinai shortly before 10 p.m. on Thursday.
The Mt. Sinai Fire Department and the Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance Corps. (PJVAC) received reports over their emergency pagers stating the one vehicle was overturned and there were pinned occupants.
At the scene, a Chevy Trail Blazer lay on its side, the female occupant trapped with an ankle injury, according to a volunteer firefighter from another fire department who stopped at the scene to assist. Another vehicle, a black Saturn Ion, had its engine visible due to major front end damage. The occupant was also pinned inside the vehicle. A sedan with minor damage was also involved.
