Crime Report: Assault Charges, Stolen Backpack, and Collision Burglary

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Port Jefferson

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Port Jefferson and Port Jefferson Station during Oct. 24—30: 

James Licausi, 41, of Riverhead was arrested in Port Jefferson Oct. 15 on assault charges.  Reports state Licausi injured a male victim requiring medical attention at approximately 9 p.m. on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station.   

Gary Gentry, 31, of Huntington was arrested in Port Jefferson Station Oct. 25 on disorderly conduct charges.  Reports state he was charged with two criminal contempt charges, and one aggravated contempt charge.  Police say Gentry violated an order of protection by going to an apartment on Old Towne Road.

Steven Marks, 55, of Ronkonkoma was arrested in Port Jefferson Station Oct. 26 for operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.  Reports state Marks was traveling through the intersection of Route 112 and Wilson and blocked vehicular traffic.  The officer pulled him over and observed slurred speech and other issues.    

Cory Callender, 30, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested in Coram Oct. 26 and charged with criminal possession of marijuana.  Reports state Callender was operating his 2006 Nissan and was observed possessing marijuana in a public place on Canal Road and Coram Mt. Sinai Road.

Richard Papacena, 44, of East Moriches was arrested at Mather Hospital in Port Jefferson Oct. 28 and charged with petit larceny. Reports state that Papacena previously stole a black and gray backpack containing cash, sneakers, two cell phones and additional items that didn't belong to him.    

Michael Conrad, 48, of Port Jefferson was arrested in Port Jefferson Oct. 28 and charged with burglary.   Reports state that Conrad was arrested on Baylis Avenue for burglary 3.  Reports also state he broke into a garage at CNC Collision located on Texaco Avenue in Port Jefferson and stole tires and rims. 

Anthony Yanotti, 25, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested in Port Jefferson Station Oct. 28 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Reports state Yanotti possessed a narcotic drug with intent to sell on Old Towne Road and route 347. 

Alexandre Gueorguiev, 24, of Setauket was arrested in Port Jefferson Station Oct. 28 and charged with loitering.  Reports state Gueorguiev was arrested in the 711 parking lot on Old Towne Road for loitering to buy a controlled substance.

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must write the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
