Crime Report: Cops Make Multiple Impaired Driving Arrests
The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Jason Sciortino, 33, of Port Jefferson, was arrested Feb. 17 in Mt. Sinai and charged with first-degree operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Police say Sciortino hit a fire hydrant and a telephone pole while driving on Mt. Sinai Avenue at 3:30 p.m., and said they determined he was under the influence of drugs.
Claire Gera, 22, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested Feb. 17 in Huntington Station and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors. She was arrested at the corner of Depot Road and East 9th Street in Huntington Station at 1 p.m.
Carlos Jimenez, 34, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested Feb. 17 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police stopped him while driving southbound on Route 112 at 4:40 a.m. and said he was intoxicated.
