Crime Report: Cops Say Mt. Sinai Man Had Loaded Gun

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk police have arrested a Mt. Sinai man whom they say illegally possessed a handgun. Daniel Goble, 28, was arrested June 14 at his home in Mt. Sinai and was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, after police said he had a loaded 9mm gun at his home. A police spokesperson could not say why officers had been called to the house. According to court records, Goble was held on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond and was due back in court on Wednesday.

Christian Irizarry, 21, of Port Jefferson Station, faces a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle in the third degree. Police arrested him June 15 on Jayne Boulevard in Port Jefferson Station at 6:45 a.m. after finding him driving a 2001 Suzuki owned by someone else.

Gary Gabay, 66, of Port Jefferson Station, faces a misdemeanor charge of falsely reporting an incident in the third degree. Police arrested him June 12 at 1 a.m. after he allegedly made a false report that someone had robbed him of money.

Albert Torres, 19, of Port Jefferson Station, faces a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault after allegedly punching and kicking another man. Police arrested him June 11 at 10:35 p.m. at a shopping center on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station.

Matthew Russo, 23, of Mt. Sinai, was arrested June 15 in Nesconset and charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, a misdemeanor. According to police, Russo was driving on Route 25 near Hemlock Lane in Nesconset when he stopped his vehicle in the middle of an intersection and drove in reverse before turning onto Hemlock. He was stopped and found to be intoxicated, according to police.
