Crime Report: Impersonation of Narcotics Detective

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Port Jefferson and Port Jefferson Station during Aug. 2-6:

Jose Vargas, 25, of Port Jefferson was arrested Aug. 6 in Port Jefferson and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports state Vargas was stopped by two Port Jefferson town constables for suspected drug dealing. The incident occurred at approximately 12:20 a.m. at 242 Traders Cove, Port Jefferson.    

Kevin Stetz, 24, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested Aug. 6 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Stez was sleeping in the passenger side of a 2008 Toyota when he was discovered to be in possession of drugs. The incident occurred at approximately 5:37 p.m. on Old Town Rd., Port Jefferson Station.

Brian Wolowski, 24, of Holbrook was arrested Aug. 6 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Reports indicate Wolowski was allegedly found to be in possession of drugs in a 2008 Toyota at 5:37 p.m.    

Mark Miller, 34, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested Aug. 4 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with DWAI. Miller allegedly failed to maintain proper lane travel when he was pulled over by police. He was discovered to be intoxicated while traveling on Route 347 in a 1997 Ford at approximately 1:47 a.m, according to a police report.

James Pritchard, 30, of Coram was arrested Aug. 3 in Port Jefferson and charged with second degree criminal impersonation. Pritchard allegedly caused a disturbance and impersonated a narcotics detective at a bar and grill in Port Jefferson. The incident occurred at approximately 3:44 a.m east of Main St.    

Patrick Helm, 34, of Medford was arrested Aug. 3 in Port Jefferson and charged with first offense DWI. Reports indicate Helm was allegedly traveling in a 2007 Mazda while intoxicated. A police officer pulled him over initially for traveling without headlights. The incident occurred at approximately 10:19 p.m. northbound Main St. and Myrtle Ave.
