Crime Report: Police Bust 3 for Alleged Heroin, Cocaine Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

• Suffolk County police arrested three men whom they say had heroin or cocaine in their possession between June 18 and June 22. 

A 25-year-old man from Port Jefferson Station was arrested after he was found walking against traffic in the middle of the road at Maple Avenue and Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station on June 22 at about 8 a.m. He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, because he was found with cocaine, according to police.

Two brothers, a 27-year-old from Coram and a 23-year-old from Port Jefferson Station, were also charged on June 18 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance; one allegedly had cocaine, the other heroin and cocaine, on West Broadway near Schafer's in Port Jefferson. 

• Ashan Khan, 34, of Port Jefferson Station, faces two felony charges in violation of New York's sex offender registry laws. Police said he was found to be using an email address that was not registered. He was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors, for allegedly having prescription medication illegally. According to court records, he was held on $60,000 bond or $30,000 cash bail, and is due back in court June 26.

• A 22-year-old man from Mr. Sinai was arrested after police found him with marijuana in the parking lot of a business on Old Town Road in Port Jeff Station on June 18. He was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. 

• Brian Hallahan, 22, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested while riding his motorcycle drunk through Port Jefferson on June 20, police said. He was stopped  on Linden Place after police saw him stop his motorcycle in the middle of the road and spin his tires. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor,  at 11 p.m.
