Crime Report: Port Jeff Station Man Accused of Stealing Vacuums From Target

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department and does not indicate a conviction.

Robert Johnson, 37, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested at hi home on June 24 and charged with petty larceny. Police say that Johnson was arrested for allegedly stealing Dyson vacuums from the Target on Horseblock Road in Medford on two separate days in April. On April 18 and April 11 Johnson allegedly took a Dyson DC41 Vacuum and a Dyson Slim Vacuum from the store. It is not clear on which day each vacuum as taken.

Two people visiting a house on Lamppost Avenue in Port Jefferson Station on June 24 got into an altercation. One of the visitors punched the other. They did not know each other.

On June 24 someone from Port Jefferson called police to say their credit card has been used at Wal-Mart and Splish Splash without authorization.

Robert Watford, 35, of Port Jefferson Station, was arrested in Port Jefferson Station on June 24 at about 5 p.m. and charged with assault. Watford allegedly assaulted somebody at a residence. The person was transported to hospital for his injuries.

Michael Deyak, 17, of Rocky Point, was arrested on North Country Road in Mount Sinai on June 25 at about 1:45 a.m. and charged with DWI. Police say that Deyak was involved in a car crash in his 1997 Buick before he was arrested. Someone called police on June 27 from Ashland Drive in Mount Sinai to report that a mailbox was knocked down and damaged.

On June 27, someone called police to report that a Jeep Cherokee was stolen from the driveway of a home on Randall Avenue in Port Jefferson.

Someone broke through the window of a home on Summer Street in Mount Sinai on June 29 and stole a tablet and a camera.

Justin Ogruk, 21, of Mount Sinai, was arrested on North Country Road in Mount Sinai on June 30 at about 1:35 a.m. and charged with DWI. Police say that Ogruk was swerving in his 2003 Infinity, allegedly failing to maintain his lane.

Someone threw a cobblestone through the window of a Ford Focus on Beach Avenue in Mount Sinai on June 30. A computer and an iPod were stolen. The stone also caused damage to the interior.
