Crime Report: Stolen GPS Possession, Grand Larceny Charge and Stolen White Strips

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Port Jefferson

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Port Jefferson and Port Jefferson Station during Jan. 9—16: 

Ronald Kata, 44, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested Jan. 13 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with assault.

A seventeen year old from Port Jefferson was arrested Jan. 11 in Centereach and charged with petit larceny.  Reports state the youth was arrested at Stop and Shop located in Centereach after allegedly stealing teeth whitening strips.

Augusto Fernandez, 24, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested Jan. 10 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with criminal contempt.

Jennifer Romeo, 36, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested Jan. 10 in Selden and charged with fourth degree grand larceny.  Reports state Romeo was arrested in Selden after allegedly stealing credit cards.

Suzanne Driscoll, 44, of Port Jefferson was arrested Jan. 9 in Stony Brook and charged with petit larceny.  Reports state Driscoll was arrested after she stole clothing from the Marshalls located on Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook.

A seventeen year old from Port Jefferson was arrested Jan. 9 in Port Jefferson Station and charged with criminal possession of stolen property.  Reports state the youth was arrested for possession of a stolen GPS device. 

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must write the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
