Crime Report: Unlicensed Motor Vehicle Operation, Excessive Speeding and Hypodermic Needle Discovery

A blotter of the latest arrests and incidents in Port Jefferson

Suffolk County Police Department Sixth Precinct reported these incidental arrests in Port Jefferson and Port Jefferson Station during Nov. 21—27: 

Joseph Williams, 44, of Lindenhurst was arrested Nov. 24 in Port Jefferson and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.  Reports state Williams was operating a 2006 Hyundai without a license on Main Street in Port Jefferson.

Michael Damiano, 22, of Port Jefferson was arrested Nov. 24 in Port Jefferson and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs.  Reports state Damiano was traveling northbound on Route 112 and Hallock Lane when he failed to stop at a red light.  Reports also state when the police officer pulled Damiano over, he noticed Damiano was in possession of marijuana.

Antonio Marinello, 23, of Port Jefferson Station was arrested Nov. 23 in Selden and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.  Reports state Marinello was traveling southbound on Boyle Rd. in Selden in his 2002 Pontiac when an officer noticed excessive speeding.  Upon stopping Marinello, reports state the officer discovered a hypodermic needle. 

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  If any of the above charges have been acquitted, in order for removal from publication, one must write the writer and provide proof of dismissal.
