Police: Two Men Shot, One Fatally, in Gang-Related Shooting in Deer Park
One man was killed and another seriously injured in what police are calling a gang-related shooting outside of Deer Park's Night Owl Lounge early Thursday morning. 
Police: Man Arrested 20 Minutes After Robbing Babylon Chase Bank

A man who police say robbed a Babylon Village Chase Bank Friday afternoon didn't make it very far before being placed in handcuffs. George Swanton, 54, of Brentwood, was arrested about 20 minutes after the robbery at the bank located at 31 W. Main Street, police said. Swanton is also charged with robbing a West Islip Bank of America on Tuesday and a Citibank in Brentwood last week, police said.

Drug Bust Sparks Car Crash in North Bellmore

A Merrick man struck a police car and utility pole with his car and was then extricated after a drug bust in North Bellmore on Tuesday, police said.

Garbage Truck Goes Up in Flames Monday Morning

Firefighters started off the week by extinguishing a garbage truck fire in Southampton. The Southampton Fire Department was called to a vehicle fire on Sandy Hollow Road on Monday at about 8:45 a.m.

Coram Man Set To Face Trial in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A Suffolk judge revoked a plea deal Monday for Thomas Costa, 32, from Coram who was arrested after being charged in connection with the death of a jogger who was taken off life support three weeks after the accident.

Police: Thief Punches Smith Haven Mall Security Guard

A security guard at the Sears store in the Smith Haven Mall was seriously injured after a thief punched him in the face just as the mall was closing Saturday night, police said. 

Cops: Medford Couple Arrested for Month-Long Armed Robbery Spree

Two Medford residents were arraigned Thursday in Central Islip courts for allegedly having carried out a month-long armed robbery spree across from Shirley to Nesconset.
